I think it’s useful - makes me more productive and now there is no reason for me to have a below average answer to almost any question that another person knows. But at the same time, it’s not transformative and I doubt its ability to do truly important work and have original ideas
I agree that there is no reason for me to have a below average answer to almost any Very often I get answers that I wouldn’t dare ask anyone else about! That’s what I found transformative for myself.
I have no idea how everyone around me is using AI. I’m extremely curious. Specially how all are feeling as they use it — or not. Even if you hate it or don’t use it, I’d like to know. No judgement. Pure curiosity.
Through text message one of you, a good friend, sent me this: “Nietzsche wrote that consciousness is not the endpoint of evolution, but rather an awkward, in-between stage. Notice that the gymnast's best moves, the athlete's most sublime movements, and the writer's most unforgettable sentences spring effortlessly from their unconscious.”
Then he commented thus: “The unconscious is not the same as embodied knowledge. But I think they are related. Intellectualism is a crutch. And we now have AI to replace that crutch.”
My response was “How can I tap into my unconscious self? Or is at an unconscious ‘we’?”
What I was trying to say is: I’m trying to repeat and sustain that thing that happens when I / we am in the flow. When I’ve produced art that I like art, connected with people deeply and been able to be myself without thinking too hard.
I’m not sure if I’m imagining it but I think AI is getting me more into my zone. But I have no idea if it’s real or not. And I do want more and deeper connections that I hope AI doesn’t take me away from.
An ad during the game shows a girl wanting to wash a sequined dress at a laundromat; she puts her phone to the label and is verbally instructed to turn the dress inside out and wash on warm. And AI explains why. Moreover, when asked about drying it, response was negative with humor. Much more practical use of AI and ethical!

Do you have a recurring use-case?
What’s the cliff notes version of what you are asking?

Now I’ve started talking to my meta ai glasses.
Your POV and experience of AI.
I am watching the basketball play-offs.

Yeah AI does help ditzes like me who mow the lawn with a snowblower. I did that today.
It is a lot to think about.
